Public Scripture Reading
Reading Guidelines
Please read from the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) translation on either an electronic device or a paper copy of the Bible.
If something goes wrong during the service while reading, we always have the scripture in the back of the room easily visible on the confidence monitor as a backup.

Before Sunday
Pray: Before looking at the text for the week, pray that God will use the passage both in your life and the lives of our people.
Meditate: Take some time to personally reflect, understand, and meditate on the given passage for the week.
Prepare: Clearly mark/highlight and bookmark the verses in your bible/electronic device. Make sure you are familiar with the physical Bible or the app you are reading from.
Practice Aloud: Read the passage aloud multiple times prior to Sunday from the Bible or electronic device you will be reading from on Sunday. 3 times would be ideal. It is best to break up these 3 practice times throughout the week on multiple days. Note any difficult pronunciations, names, or phrasings that trip you up and spend extra time on these if necessary.

Listen: If your passage includes multiple difficult words, try using an audio Bible to help you with the names and their pronunciations.
