Phil Thompson has lived in the Greenville area since 2003 and was affirmed as an elder at Christ Fellowship Cherrydale in 2020, prior to being commissioned for work in the Eastside area. Phil works full-time for The Gospel Coalition as Web Strategy Manager, overseeing video distribution and strategic content for their site and is pursuing a PhD in Biblical Studies at Columbia Biblical Seminary. Phil has been married to Laurel since 2008 and has three daughters: Lane, Kately, and Harper. During his extensive leisure time, Phil enjoys hanging out for coffee, hiking, reading biographies, and traveling.
Toby and Julieann Dix have been married over 25 years. Toby is a native of Greenville. Toby and Julieann met at Gardner-Webb University and have degrees in Religion and Religious Education. They have two college aged children, Madison and Tanner. Toby executes the areas of administration, finances, family ministries, and enjoys caring for CFE’s pastors, as well as encouraging other pastors. Julieann’s devotion is loving her family and discipling young women. The Dix family enjoys opening their home to others for meals, rest, counseling, or just to bring cheer.
Jonathan Chasteen was initially a part of the church plant that became Christ Fellowship Cherrydale. Jonathan was later affirmed as a pastor in 2014 before he was sent to plant CFE in 2020. “Chasteen” serves CFE by providing oversight of assimilation and clusters. Jonathan and Kim have three daughters: Ella, Sophie, and Evie. Jonathan is a registered Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. Jonathan enjoys spending time with family, Clemson Tiger sporting events, yard work, and gardening.
